Too bad they can't pass a bill to make the City take the waste water pipe out of the Molalla River - after all, the ENTIRE RIVER is an important resource. The City of Molalla wants to pretend it "cares" about the river - as long as it is the "river" that is far, far up stream from where they dump their waste water. It is now well proven that the "waste" is never fully removed from waste water, especially legal and illegal drugs.

The City mostly "cares" about exploiting the river as a tourist trap. Let's hope it doesn't get "loved" to death. Many local people were happy that it was just an off the beaten path local attraction. It will be interesting to see if conflicts develop with the new management and promotion. With "official" designation comes "official" rules. Local people had better be very proactive when the Forest Service starts proposing the formal plans.

I wonder if this is going to make it harder for the City of Molalla to get additional water rights to the river?

The bad business news keeps rolling in - Clackamas County's job growth for the next decade is not predicted to be robust - in fact, Clackamas County will have less job growth per an Oregonian article today, than Lane County and will be far behind Multnomah and Washington Counties.

Clackamas County's business growth - jobs!!! - will occur near the north Metro area, not in rural South Clackamas County.

It is time for reality here - how about a nice quiet retirement village, Molalla? TEAM has spun its wheels for years and years with nothing much to show. If the jobs didn't come during the boom times what realistically can Molalla expect in the new reality?

Maybe new development in this town is suffering because this is the first person they come in contact with? See the poll results.

That would be great if the city councilors "asked their constituents" before voting - but wouldn't that violate their code of silence - and anger the good old boys who really call the shots?

Maybe we can help Molalla's economic growth out with a bumper sticker store - it sounds like lots of people would like to comment on city "leadership"!
