Ok folks, are we ready for a recall? If you are willing to sign a petition to get the ball rolling please contact me at clarks971@yahoo.com. I need your name, address and phone #. You need to be a registered voter and live in the city limits. Hope to talk to you soon.

I was just wondering who you want to recall.
I will see what the people who contact me say. I’m just looking to see if there are enough people out there that are tired of the merry-go-round. I wish I could include the planning commision too.
If I were “lucky” enough to get a vote, I would look straight at the Councilors who SAY THE LEAST IN PUBLIC, those who promote secrecy, and those who promote the “insider/outsider” baloney – that sounds like Jacober, Clarke, and Foster (does Foster even really LIVE here anymore? I heard he hangs out in Silverton and is just a “place holder” for the good old boys). Look at getting rid of the ones most bent on personal attacks – government should be based on FACTS and DEBATE and IDEAS – not a constant struggle to engage in personal grudge matches (are you listening, “Queen of Paranoia” Jacober?)
Jacober needs to go because ALL she does is worry about leaks and about attacking Councilors who are brave enough to speak in public and to listen to all sides. I think we all need to beware of any rubber stampers/party line/secrecy promoters. Those kind of people don’t have the courage to kick around ideas and Molalla is a lost cause without lively debate and fresh voices.
Molalla is supposedly a city of over 7,000 (we’ll see the REAL truth next year with the official census which might provide a rude surprise for the people who promote the “Molalla is growing spin). With that many new people there should be all kinds of new voices on board, but when the RUBBER STAMPERS/INSIDE TRADING COUNCILORS keep stuffing the committees with the same tired, UNETHICAL old fools- like Dick Miller (a guy from Woodburn, Marion County) as the head of ‘OUR” PLANNIN’ CO-MISSON – Molalla will never move forward.
Miller is lost in his memories of the days when developers could just rip away at any land they wished to rip away at – sorry Dick, this is 21st century OREGON not the California ‘burbs where you ripped away in your “past” career.
Visit the Plannin’ Co-mission sometime and see who is plannin’ for your future here! You will be SHOCKED. And visit a City Council Meeting – check out to see who opens their mouth and DISCUSSES ISSUES. You will be SHOCKED at the lack of debate.
Clarke is a mess because he wants total control – the exact opposite of what the city needs to move forward. Molalla is crying for diverse people on committees – and Clarke, Jacober, and Foster are the the Councilors who want a tiny band of insiders to run everything. If you think that promotes a healthy civic environment then look at North Korea – that is the kind of government fostered by good old boys – no transparency, no FACTS, no public participation, blackouts on public information. With the good old boy network you get Ghost Town Molalla – let’s get some fresh voices on board. Good luck! I will work to spread the word.
I meet wonderful, smart people in the city all the time – when can we get them on board to help run the city? You don’t have to have been born here or be a good old boy to run, and we are desperate for CHANGE.
Google the websites of Silverton, Estacada, Canby – just about any city around has fantastic info on line, lists of all kinds of diverse committees and public information. Molalla is the BOTTOM OF THE BARREL – time to find people who like to SHARE INFORMATION instead of hiding behind closed doors.
I have great idea for the Good Old Boys (and Good Old Witch Jacober) Cabal. They need to start a parallel universe blog of their own! OOPS!I forgot! None of them wants to have a paper or voice trail of ideas! OOPS! I forgot! They don’t HAVE any any ideas!
Maybe the Good Old Boys (GOBS!) would not do well in blog world, since most of what they “write” and “think” involves leaks, paranoia, attacks, or profanity – profanity obviously works well for the King of Sleaze! I guess the Sleaze King would have to go directly to the triple XXX sites so don’t let the kiddies follow him there.
The rest of the Good Old Boys could just post a big BLACK PAGE to come up when we google “Good Old Boys” – kind of like the low quality website for Molalla City Hall! Remember it is GOBS for short! RECALL GOBS!
I would let Danna Post here if she would use her real identity and could refrain from telling lie’s. But that seems to be really hard for her.
There is a great Warren Zevon song about a boxer – it has a verse I love that goes:
“If you can’t take the punches then it don’t mean a thing”.
I think that public officials – and anyone who wants to participate in public process – must keep that wise refrain in mind. Of course, lest some of our more “backwoods” buddies take it literally, it DOES NOT mean literal punches – just that PUBLIC IS PUBLIC and people who live in “glass houses” should be very careful about how many and what kind of rocks they throw.
And I think Public Officials should ALWAYS speak for themselves – not let their big “bad” spouses speak for them. After all, who did the public elect – and who is running the Witch Hunts?
It seems like a reasonable policy to ask PUBLIC OFFICIALS to identify themselves as such. Since a blog is a publication, just like the Pioneer, the editor of the blog may impose any kind of rules the editor wishes. After all, blogs can be started by any smart and talented person so if someone doesn’t like the Molalla Blog policy they can trot right off and set up their own “ring” to land “punches” in – and then it is up to the net surfers to decide which sites have the best info, the best comments, and are the most fun and interesting to read. Thanks for the great forum, Molalla Blog! Our community really needs this fantastic forum, given the sad state of “public” meetings here.
I really like the dueling site idea – GOBS vers the Molalla Bloggers. I fear the GOBS site might be awfully empty, though. But let’s see if the GOBS have a scrap of creativity in them!
