Mike Clarke seems to think he is the King of this Town. Other Councilors can’t publicly speak or print anything in the paper now without his approval. What is even worse is the councilors agreed to this.
Everyone has the right to “FREE SPEECH”. Shame on Mayor Clarke and shame on Council.
What has your Mayor done for this town since taking office?

If you want to call me names for defending myself against Danna’s lie’s and her husband’s libel that’s fine with me. I didn’t start anything.
I don’t know what were lies and what weren’t, I wasn’t there and cannont comment.. I didn’t mean to insult you but that was the way it sounded in the media….
I hope “independent” is smart enough to start to watch and listen closely – TO THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE COMING FROM MOLALLA’S BOGUS “LEADERS”.
Recent emails from Jacober to Atkins and other Council members reflect that Molalla government could qualify as the most secretive and paranoid place on the planet. I should know after having to contact the Clackamas County DA to get simple PUBLIC INFORMATION on two different occasions.
Clarke, Jacober, and Foster for sure would fit right in if they moved to North Korea – somewhere that fits the “hold the cards close to the chest” non-transparent style they favor.
So, independent, if you support that – then maybe you should leave America in favor of some closed system government. I’d rather work hard to expose those paranoid fools who obviously have NO IDEAS worth bringing to the public. Otherwise, wouldn’t they ALL proudly be writing op-eds, letters and speaking out in PUBLIC ABOUT PUBLIC ISSUES? Where is the debate, where are the ideas, where, where, where?
I am glad that a guy with no creative ideas and no respect for open process is not teaching my children!

WOW….. I can always count on Oregon First to put me in my place… I am just saying after the middle school arguing that went on last year, to assist Molalla look more Hillbillish (I made up a word) to every town around…. You don’t see two council people going at each other lke Steve and Danna last year in the media.. The thing I have learned is sometimes silence speaks louder than words…. Steve said it was to protect himself so Kudos to him..

I think it is important for people to act professional when they are in a public office.. When they don’t people don’t re-elect them…
Public information IS PUBLIC INFORMATION – INFORMATION IN BUDGET FILES IS PUBLIC, PLANNING FILES ARE PUBLIC, almost EVERYTHING PRODUCED BY PUBLIC WORKERS IS PUBLIC. To participate in planning here (are YOU participating, independent?) people need access to all the INFORMATION. Molalla has failed to PROVIDE ALL THE INFORMATION. Call me paranoid, but if a city with a “planner” who has NO TRAINING and NO SKILL wants to swing out and try to post more ugly garbage on fine farmland then I am going to read every document, and call all the GLARING DEFICIENCIES into the open. I value the land surrounding Molalla far more than the crumbling asphalt, shuttered businesses, polluted brownfields, and ill planned developments.
And what I value I will work to protect – and I will work just as hard to protect it as the city is working to build more ill planned developments so a couple of Good Old Boys get rich.
What has Molalla Planning done lately to enhance your city? Where IS THE PARKS PLAN, WHERE IS THE PLAN TO FIX THE DOWNTOWN? Where is a CERTIFIED PLANNER WHO KNOWS WHAT REAL PLANNERS DO?
Finally, open and transparent cities don’t require a public info request for most information – they just send it right out FOR FREE ON EMAIL, or they say ‘COME ON DOWN” because they are PROUD of their work and they have nothing to hide. Try it – I have – Silverton, Estacada, etc proudly send info if it isn’t ALREADY POSTED FOR ALL TO SEE ON THE WEB. UNLIKE MOLALLA!
So independent, sit back and let the money slip away – I guess you must be so rich you don’t care how public funds are squandered behind the scenes – or how badly the city compares to local, thriving, open, well run cities. I care. I care enough to look into the FACTS – I don’t take the word of people who get to work on the basis of NEPOTISM. Anyone who has “invested” in Molalla should care – but we know that most folks – like you? – are happy to hope for the best, look the other way, and then bitch when your property is so devalued by poor planning that AFTER THE FACT you will cry foul.
I’d rather stop the insanity before it goes further. You are more than welcome to be a Pollyanna – I’d much rather be part of a solution – call me any names you like, I won’t stop exposing FACTS. And no place hates FACTS more than Molalla and its “leaders’ (gag!).
