    I am mystified by support for Atkins. He continues to pretend that the Comp Plan is going forward and he allows Potter – the plannin’ guy with NO education in planning – to spend tons of money on lawyers and “plans” that won’t pass county or state muster. And Atkins laid off the Certified Planner – Zac – and retained Potter.

    What kind of manager does that – allows poor performance to be rewarded?

    Also, Atkins works very hard to deny public information access – so what is there to hide, why isn’t he PROUD to show off the records that would prove how great the city is doing?

    Word has it that he was not a popular figure in West Linn – I saw an angry account from neighborhood associations that were angry because Atkins was trying to take away citizen input in West Linn affairs. He certainly appears to be the puppet for the behind the scenes, influence peddling, good old boy cabal.

    I will never forget how Atkins encouraged the city council NOT TO ACT to protect local residents from the Scott’s pollution – in spite of the fact that DEQ was begging for enforcement backup. Luckily, for once, the council rejected Atkin’s “advice” and put a pollution statue in place. Now Scotts is about to leave!
